_We have all heard about the value of setting goals (in theory), but metrics and science are actually make a case that it works!

Consider using this easy to remember acronym when making your "New Year's Resolutions" or setting general short & long-term goals for work, your personal life, based on your health goals, financial, etc:



SMART
  • Specific
  • Measurable
  • Achievable
  • Relevant
  • Time-based
Once you get that down, also keep these important points in mind:

1. Write them down. (and hopefully look at them regularly)
2. Be flexible and readjust, revisit your goals if needed.
3. Don't be too hard on yourself.  (this is very important)
